Breaking old habits to make room for new beautiful ones.
Jewelry is a funny item. It can be something that means a whole lot to you like an antique family heirloom. It can add personality and spunk like a choker, or it can be forgotten, a quick trend that only lasted a few moments.
As I was toying with new concepts and ideas, I started to break apart old necklaces and bracelets and realized breaking them apart gave light to all the new things they can become.
So I started to think if it was that simple to break old bracelets and create beautiful new jewelry, is it that simple to break old habits and create beautiful new ones?
In the light of current times, I've had a lot of self reflection on some of my worst habits ranging from the most obscure silly ones to ones that have deep roots that will take more than a simple acceptance to break them to really get over them.
forgetting to clean the shower drain of my unruly curls, occupational hazard of having hair like mine
being too lazy to floss, if my dentist asks, I will deny deny deny
drinking barely any water, basically I think I'm a camel having a secret storage of water, rather than hydrate
not showing enough affection for those I love,
meaning I not only give the worst hugs on the planet but do not exhibit them in broad daylight enough
not practicing gratitude more regularly. really taking a moment to say thank you
worrying about my future and dwelling on my past, rather than being in the present
Taking the time to understand, empathize, and place my feet in your shoes, rather than judge
So instead of being just a bracelet, just an earring, or just a necklace.
It's my remember to floss bracelet, hug like you mean it necklace, and empathy over judgement earrings.
